Wizard Wonders Scout Adventures at Providence Children's Museum | Winter 2017 - Spring 2018

Make magic happen at the Wizards’ Castle through creative problem-solving, hands-on science experiments and arts exploration! Construct catapults, design house banners, and discover the magic of static electricity—plus have plenty of time to play in the Museum's interactive exhibits!



Wizard Wonders Adventures for Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts

2018 dates: February 2, March 2, April 13 and May 11 (Extra dates may be added - stay up to date with our Calendar of Activities)

6:00 - 9:00 PM

Registration includes engaging activities led by enthusiastic Museum educators, a Providence Children’s Museum Wizard Wonders fun patch, a snack, after-hours play in the Museum, and a free admission pass for each Girl Scout for a future Museum visit. Wizard Wonders activities can apply to many badges including: Brownie Inventors, Home Scientist, Letterboxer, Painter and My Family Story badges and Junior Entertainment Technology, Musician, and Drawing.

Registration fees are $20 per Scout, $10 per first adult, and $5 each additional adult.

  • Registration deadline: 2 weeks prior to each event
  • Minimum participants: 50 scouts
  • Maximum participants: 85 scouts

Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors!

Interested in working with younger Girl Scouts? Be a Scout Night Leader during a magical evening of STEAM activities for Borwnies and Juniors at Providence Childrens Museum! Join us for the first Wizard Wonders Scout Night on Friday, December 1, 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM and learn how to lead activities alongside Museum staff. December 1 training is required and leaders are asked to commit to a minimum of one additonal Scout Night date (see list above).

Wizard Wonders Adventures for Cub Scouts

January 26 | 6:00 - 9:00 PM

Registration includes engaging activities led by enthusiastic Museum educators, a Providence Children’s Museum Wizard Wonders fun patch, , after-hours play in the Museum, and a free admission pass for each Cub Scout for a future Museum visit. Wizard Wonders activities can apply to many belt loops including:

  • Tiger Elective Adventures: Curiosity, Intrigue, and Magic; Family Stories; Stories in Shapes
  • Wolf Elective Adventure: Air of the Wolf
  • Bear Elective Adventure: Super Science
  • Webelo Elective Adventure: Adventures in Science

Registration fees are $25 per adult partner/youth, $20 per additional youth, and $5 per additional adult.  For information and registration contact The Narragansett Council, BSA at (401) 351-8700.

Registration Policies

  • A minimum of 1 adult per 8 Scouts is required, but you are welcome to register additional adults.
  • A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required within two weeks of booking for Brownie and Girl Scout After-Hours Adventures.  For Cub Scout registration, see The Narragansett Council's policies.
  • Full payment is required two weeks prior to the evening; payment must be made for the number of Scouts booked for and no refunds will be issued for individual cancellations or absences.
  • Refunds will be allowed if cancellations are made four weeks in advance.
  • The Museum reserves the right to cancel due to insufficient registrations two weeks prior to the event, in which case we will try to reschedule your troop. If we are unable to reschedule you, all deposits and fees will be refunded.
  • Age-appropriate Scout siblings may be accommodated during Providence Children’s Museum Scout programs; call for details.

Coming soon: Scout Discovery Days!

Scout Discovery Days are special Museum visits designed for the youngest Scouts! Bring your troop to the Museum during Scout Discovery Days – designated Saturdays and Sundays in winter and spring, and receive reduced admission rates, information on how play and exploration in exhibits to accomplish badge/petal steps, participate in drop-in activities in Discovery Studio that align with badges/petals. Explore the swirling, whirling ways of water, investigate the awesome power of air, and much more!
